    FRINGE SESSIONS FUNDRAISER FOR UKRAINE

The team behind the Haslemere Fringe Festival are proud to announce that last Saturday’s newly formed Fringe Sessions gig, which promotes local emerging and original talent on the first Saturday of each month, attracted over 120 people and raised an incredible £1,400 for the Ukraine Support Appeal!

Taking place at the popular Shottermill Club, near Lion Green, this upbeat evening includes performances by multiple live bands followed by a DJ set until 1am.

The March line-up was opened by Big Red Sky, an amazing 8-piece band aged between 9 and 17, followed by local favourite Eloise Carter, young female-fronted group, Creature of Habit, an acoustic set from Yellowlees, and alternative rock band, Risking Nostalgia. The evening was rounded off by a set from local DJ, Louis Vass.

All the performers and the Shottermill Club kindly donated their fees which, combined with the £5pp entrance tickets and very generous private donations, culminated in the significant contribution to the Ukraine Support Appeal.

  • HASLEMERE FRINGE SESSIONS LAUNCHED TO PROMOTE LOCAL/ORIGINAL TALENT

The team behind the Haslemere Fringe Festival have announced an exciting new series of live events promoting local emerging and original talent.

The Haslemere Fringe Sessions will take place at the Shottermill Club on the first Saturday of each month, with the first event scheduled for 5 February at 19.00.

The evening will include performances by live bands: Subsetters, Face the Wolves, Sour Kix and Eloise Carter of 30 Degree Cycle, followed by a DJ set until 1am.

The venue is ideally located close to Lion Green (the site of the main Haslemere Fringe Festival), and just a 15-minute walk from Haslemere Train Station.

To ensure that the events are accessible to all, tickets will be sold on the door at the very reasonable price of £5, with a discounted rate of £3 for club members.

Shottermill Club chairman Dave Marden said, “We’re delighted to be able to provide a venue and partner with the Haslemere Fringe team. Although many people don’t realise it, our social club is open to anyone who wants to become a member, including families and people from all age groups. We’re looking forward to welcoming some new faces as well as hearing some fantastic live music.”

Fringe organiser Paul Ashton said, “The Fringe Sessions will offer audiences a taster of the main Fringe Festival on 1-3 July, but more significantly they’ll provide a performance platform for the wide variety of local talent that we’re fortunate to have in the Haslemere area.”
